Lucketts Travel Returns Home to Its Family Roots

Lucketts Travel is proud to announce its return to family roots, joining The Coach Travel Group in a move that brings one of the South Coast’s most loved coach operators back under family influence.

Founded by David Luckett more than 50 years ago, Lucketts Travel began with a single coach and a simple ambition to deliver high-quality, reliable travel with a personal touch. Over the decades, David’s sons, Ian and Steve Luckett, built on that foundation, growing the business into one of the UK’s most respected and trusted names in coach travel before its sale to National Express.

Now, that story has come full circle. Under The Coach Travel Group, Lucketts Travel once again sits alongside fellow heritage brands such as The Kings Ferry, Clarkes of London, and Worthing Coaches, with the Luckett family name once again helping to shape its future.

Andrew Luckett, Digital Director at The Coach Travel Group and son of founder David Luckett, said “Lucketts Travel is where our family’s story in the coach industry began. Bringing it home feels incredibly special both personally and professionally.

My father built this company on pride, quality, and community spirit values that continue to guide us today. This isn’t just about bringing back a name; it’s about restoring a legacy and giving it the innovation, tools, and support to thrive in a new era of sustainable coach travel.”

As part of The Coach Travel Group, Lucketts Travel will benefit from shared expertise, investment in digital technology, and a commitment to advancing sustainable travel solutions, while continuing to serve customers across the South Coast with the same dedication and personal service it’s known for.

“We’re proud to see the Lucketts name on our coaches once again,” added Andrew. “It’s a new chapter that honours our past but looks firmly to the future one that’s smarter, greener, and built on the same family values that started it all.”
